Global Vibe: SETTING THE SCENE

Upper Primary
This exercise will help students to understand the workings and complexity involved in bringing the News to their homes on a daily basis. Young learners will develop a greater understanding of the workings of a television production unit.

 

Junior Secondary
This assignment will be particularly useful to students of Media. In identifying the roles and individual responsibilities of a news production, it will help students develop their knowledge of how a News team actually 'works'.

 

Senior Secondary
This Activity will engage Media students in the complexities of Television News Production. Students will learn how to discern between the different roles and responsibilities on the set, and will develop an understanding of how much time and effort is required to produce the News on a daily basis.

 

Getting Connected: SETTING THE SCENE

Upper Primary
By completing the tasks below, students will develop skills in describing and explaining whilst they learn more about television production. Able students undertaking this activity will also reflect upon and recognise the 'style' of a News programme and its impact.

 

Junior Secondary
This assignment will encourage and enable students to differentiate between styles in television production. While writing, they will reflect upon and recognise how important style is in determining News programme credibility.

 

Senior Secondary
In undertaking this assignment students will enhance their descriptive writing skills and, while reflecting on News Television Production, will develop their understanding of the New's style creation and intent.
